iPhones and the iMac

Tonight we had three iPhones here at the Spitzberg household. How could I not take this picture?

We had the Taylor's (pictured below) and the Baker's over for dinner tonight. It was a marathon of food and intense wii playing. All three couples own the wii. It was a joy to have them over tonight.

Mambo Italiano - Saturday June 14, 2008

Today is the day of posting videos. Here is me playing the pots in the back. Kate, a member of the singles care group I am in, took this video footage. Thanks for the clip Kate!

You Tube Videos

Well, here are two youtube videos that I like. The first video is the National Harbor percussion crew. I'm not playing, but you can get an idea of what we do. The second one includes two of my favorite drummers: Buddy Rich + Animal. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Ladder Show @ Goucher College

Here are some pics of when I performed the ladder show @ Goucher College in Towson MD. The drummer who initially sent me the audition notice for the gig is on the faculty @ Goucher. My Dad and Step-Mom came to see the show.

Camp Arena Stage + Deep Creek Lake (ah ... relaxing)

Life has been full this week. I worked at the National Harbor 3 times, and completed my second week of Camp Arena Stage. I teach four classes: Electronic Music; Rock Band; Junk Percussion; and Hand Drumming. This is my fourth year doing @ CAS. In my previous years, I typically have a favorite class. But this year, I truly enjoy each class equally. All the students are eager to learn and are absorbing what I've been teaching them like sponges. Four more weeks of camp and then Mari and I are off to West Virginia. Here are some pics of my classroom at Georgetown Visitation where the camp takes place (Captions Below Pics):
Here you can see a drum set, some hand drums, and some cool sounding trash cans.

I rented a Roland Fantom X-6 for the camp. It has an infrared light that you can trigger loops with and make a crazy synthesizer noise with. It's the perfect keyboard for the electronic music class.

I have 2 electronic drum things. One you can hit with sticks, and the other you can hit with your hands. These are also a lot of fun.

TRANSITION ...

Mari and I had the privilege to spend all day Saturday w/ my Mom and our long-time (almost forty years) family friends the Prestons. We had a relaxing day eating, tanning, and going on a boat ride. We love Deep Creek. It's only three hours and once you get there, the environment almost commands you to relax.

National Harbor Percussion Calendar + Brief Update

For those of you that are interested in coming to see me play at the National Harbor, I've posted the dates I'm playing on a sidebar. If you want to come, email me and I can get you more info, or if you want to surprise me, here are some details. We play two separate shows: one is a ladder show/bucket show, and the other is a singing show in Pienza. The ladder show is around 5:45 + 9:30 pm. And the Pienza shows are 15 minute sets throughout the night. Here is a link with more info about the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center.

Last week Mari and I went to the wedding of Will + Alycia Irish. It was a great ceremony and Mari and I got to dance together. She is a way better dancer, but we had fun. I hope everyone is having a great summer, and if you are reading this, I GREATLY appreciate your time!
