Dave + Mari Pics

Here are some pictures from when we stayed at my Dad's on Sunday 1/19. That Wednesday I took Mari out to Divino, an Argentine restaurant in Bethesda. Coming up soon on the blog will be the Argentinian food pictures and also pics of some of Mari's great dishes from the last couple of weeks. For now, here is a recap of MLK week. (Captions will be below)

I think Mari took this. I like how the red stands out in the snow.

"Hmmm, what should we get?"

Good choice!

Argentina Post #2 : Patagonia (Villa la Angustura + Bariloce)

I was hoping this would be the final post, but I think I will separate Patagonia into two posts (this one is already way to long). This post will include Christmas Eve until Friday 12/26. We took a lot of pictures, I hope you enjoy them.

After exploring a beach in Villa Angustura (to be pictures in the next Argentinian post) we took a Catamaran ride to an Argentinian Nation Park. This pictures includes everyone except my Mom.

Here is the water. Brilliant caption if I say so myself.

This is the mountains we saw from the boat.

When we were parked at the National Park, this was our view away from the park.

Jimena, Florencia, and Mari posing for the camera.

After the catamaran, it was off to celebrate Christmas Eve at our cabin. I have many pictures of the food, but that will be in a separate post.

Pre dinner smiles.

In this picture we have my Mom, Nene, Mari, Carmen, + Tere.

Some gifts from Santa.

My Mom gave the kids hydrating back packs for Christmas.

On Christmas Day we went to see this waterfall.

We needed to use those back-packs after the small hike to see the waterfall.

The next day, we went to a beach. The activities included taking a nap and canoeing.

This is a picture of the water I took form my canoe.

On the way back from the Beach, Mario wanted to stop at this scenic overlook.
This was the water at the overlook ... perfectly clear.

The mountain from the overlook.

Dinner after a day at the beach.

The next day we went to a town called Bariloce. This is a town where all the high school seniors go on their senior trip. There is a song that all the kids sing on the bus ride to Bariloce ... I would sing for you ... in fact, if you want to hear it let me know.

This in the town center of Bariloce. (Jimena, Florencia, Nene, Tere, Mario, + Matias).

This is Mari's favorite chocalate shop. The chocalate is amazing.

This Nene, Mari, and myself beginning to fly a kite that my Mom bought for us.

Carmen + Mari give it a try.

Success!

This is a view from the beach in Bariloce.

Allow me to translate for you "The Bus Terminal."

Here is a picture of the style of bus we took.

This is a sunset from the Bus .. I'm not sure who took, either Mari or my Mom.
I am going to take a little break from the Arentina trip. There are a total of around 1500 pictures, but I have only chosen a selection. If you would like to see all of the pictures, let me know. Up next I'm going to post two video from the National Harbor and some other stuff. Have a great day!

Argentina Post #1 : Buenos Aires (12/28 - 1/10)

It has been a smooth transition this last week after returning from Argentina. The trip was incredible, a lot of fun memories. This post is a photo recap of our time in Buenos Aires (Sunday December 28 - Saturday January 10). The next post will include pictures from our time in Patagonia. (Captions will be below)
One of the first days back we went to see where 'Evita' was buried. It was a very interesting cemetery.

After 'seeing' Evita we went to Jardin Japenese (the Japanese Garden). It was fun, while we were walking my Mom saw this apartment building and decided she would like to live on the top floor.
Bonsai.

These three previos pictures were taken on the train we took to go downtown. It was a very smooth ride and the seats were comfortable.

One day we took a river boat ride and saw an entire community that lives on houses built by the water. They have water buses to get home, and also have food delivery boats.

The next few pictures include people we visited with.
The two pictures above include Mari's cousins family and their daughters. Mari is the Godmother of the two young girls.

The woman pictured above is Sandra. Hanging out with her and her husband was one of the highlights for me. Their hospitality was incredible and I believe we stayed at their house from 3pm until midnight.

Above is Mari's Dad's sister (her aunt) and cousin whose name is actually Mariana.

This was us on New Years Eve. It was a big party that included a huge amount of food, dancing, and me having to dress up like a woman. More on that later ... maybe.

On our last night there, we went to hang out with some of Mari's sisters (Tere) high school friends. We had Asado (Argentine BBQ), laughed, and had a great time.

This is Mario, Jimena, Florencia, and Matias. They were typically up front when we were driving around.

My Mom and Tere while at the airport before my Mom leaves.

The three young ladies.

This is Roco, the superstar dog.

Everyone drinks Matte in Argentina. It is a social drink that tastes great!

This is my baby before she goes to hang out with her high school friends. I made sure she had her wedding ring on ... I watched Iron Man with the kids that night.

One night we went to the mall ... and yes, they do sell Apple products in Argentina ... sweet!

After the apple store we went bowling.

Hmm ... these balls are a lot heavier than the wii controller.
Very concentrated.
Mario crushed us all, this is him with his trophie.

We bought a memory card from this nice man. The card became corrupt and we lost our pictures, but he fixed so we wanted to have a picture with him to remember his service.

All the ladies together (Tere, Mari, Carmen, + Nene).

One last game of Rumikub before we leave.

The traditional airport picture.

The next post will include shots from Patagonia ... this is the place we stayed. Per usual, thank you for reading this much, and I hope you have a great week!
